Amanita phalloides is more commonly (and appropriately) known as the Death Cap. Eating these is NOT recommended as it can result in fatal liver and kidney damage. Really eating anything with “death” in its name is probably never a good idea.

The Amanita muscaria that I’m holding was found in the middle of downtown Bellevue, under some bushes in the center of a parking lot.  Had I not stopped to tie my shoe, I would have never found this very fine specimen.
